    My god no wonder these people in those times were sick all the time, shit I would rather be a Native American, at least they knew how to be clean, and the europeans back then said they were uncivilized. lol.

    @jgascoine011 It’s really only been very recently that a good “white” colour has been available from any other source but lead. The history of colours (like lapis lazuli-blue, which, being incredibly expensive, was chosen as the “holy colour” in much of art) is fascinating.

    Yeah, that can happen, if some of those pins jabbed into your neck or heart or spine, those can be lethal.

    Funny in comparison to how we treat our actors today, no egos for these actors! that’s for sure!.

    I heard that geisha and kabuki actors in the 17th century also got lead poisoning from their makeup. It was dangerous to be pretty.

    the make up the romans used (and probably other ancient civilisations) also had lead in it
