Death of the Reich and Beyond 6 of 13
This is a documentary compilation covering the last days of the Third Reich and some of the immediate aftermath of World War II. It is not an incredibly in-depth series, but it does touch on some of the decisions and consequences of this war that are not typically covered. This series documents the intentional bombing of civilian targets by Allied Forces, the employment of Nazi scientists by Allied nations after the war, the trial at Nuremberg, and the massive stores of looted art and money hidden by the Nazis.
@fredhubner
I am tempted to pull a Sam Kinnnison from “Back to School” here with ….
“Good Answer. I like the way you think.” with his teeth clenched and that smirky smile. :0)
I don’t believe Patton was murdered … Patton and Churchill did want to keep it going and stand up against the Soviet Army … Mac Arthur and Roosevelt kept a tight lid on both … and Truman made the Cold War official … that’s the kind of allies the Soviets were expected to give full trust … I’m glad they didn’t …
@fredhubner Yes, he was a class act.
What do you think about the allegations that Patton was assassinated? Our history prof told us that Patton wanted to keep going (as did MacArthur) to wipe out the Soviet Union and communism. I enjoy reading your comments and would like your thoughts on that.
Cheers!
@volvo4377 Only a summary execution would have sufficed for that piece of shit. Interesting? Only if there were some doubt regarding his guilt.
Eisenhower was certainly the most impressive character in this entire war …
Aw … I doubt so … he would probably chicken out …
Himmler would have been hung, drawn and quartered; for the blood he had on his hands, he would have deserved no less.
A Himmler trial would have been very interesting.
