Kaiser Chiefs – Heat Dies Down

Monday, September 6th, 2010

Yours Truly, Angry Mob Regular edition cover (CD and LP) Studio album by Kaiser Chiefs Released 26 February 2007 Recorded Hook End Studio, Berkshire: September – October, 2006 Genre Indie Rock Length 44:19 Label B-Unique Producer Stephen Street Yours Truly, Angry Mob is the second album by English rock band Kaiser Chiefs. It was released on 23 February 2007 in Belgium and the Netherlands, on 26 February 2007 in the rest of the world and in late March in North America. The album was preceded by the release of lead single “Ruby” on 19 February (see 2007 in British music).[1][2][3] It became the band’s first (and to date, only) number one album in the British album charts. Once again produced by Stephen Street, producer of the band’s debut album Employment, Yours Truly, Angry Mob is lyrically darker and more socially aware than its predecessor, with tracks dealing with street crime, violence, fame, and the inaccuracy of tabloid articles. The band had earlier revealed to NME in October 2006 that they had recorded 22 songs and hoped to whittle that number down to 13 or 14 for the final album.[4] Additionally, in July 2006 the band revealed to Gigwise that they’d hoped to have the album released by Valentine’s Day 2007.[5] The album was leaked in its entirety on February 21, 2007. The album was criticised by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, who likened it to his own record The Great Escape. Track History: “The Angry Mob” is a song by English indie band Kaiser Chiefs and is the title

Vietnam (Origin of Nail Salon Business) (2/3)

One of research interests is entrepreneurship and self-employment among Asian Americans. In that context, as New American Media reports, one example that has increasingly become prominent in recent years is the dominance of Vietnamese Americans in the nail salon business: These days, [nail salons are] a main source of living for the Vietnamese American community. Drummey, publisher of VietSalon, a bi-monthly magazine, says that nearly 45 percent of the nail salons in the United States employ Vietnamese technicians or are Vietnamese owned. . . . And with that growth has come advancement. Men, for one, are entering the field in huge numbers. And as Vietnamese Americans are becoming more entrenched in the industry, they are investing more funds and technique in their daily work, upgrading their salons with top-of-the-line equipment and first-rate artistry. The article also mentions that apparently, there are now even international competitions on nail art (the intricate designs that are painted onto fingernails). Unfortunately, the article does not mention any challenges that Vietnamese experience in either opening up or operating their nail salons (such as dealing with increasingly stringent health regulations, toxic fumes from the chemicals used, and competition from other Vietnamese salons), nor any issues related to interacting with their clientele that inevitably arise (ie, how customers might get annoyed if employees talk among themselves in Vietnamese rather than

Eurofighter Typhoon RAF Leuchars Airshow 2009

Sunday, September 5th, 2010

Eurofighter Typhoon RAF Leuchars Airshow 2009 Typhoon will provide the RAF with a multi-role combat aircraft, capable of being deployed in the full spectrum of air operations, from air policing, to peace support, through to high intensity conflict. Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain formally agreed to start development of the aircraft in 1988 with contracts for a first batch of 148 aircraft of which 55 are for the RAF signed ten years later. Deliveries to the RAF started in 2003 to 17(R) Sqn, based at BAE Systems Warton Aerodrome in Lancashire, alongside the factory in which the aircraft are assembled, while detailed development and testing of the aircraft was carried out. Formal activation of the Typhoon Squadron at RAF Coningsby occurred on the 1st Jul 2005, with operational employment expected to be declared later on this decade. An incremental acquisition has always been envisaged resulting in a true multi-role weapon system. Initial production aircraft of the F2 standard will be deployed primarily as air-superiority fighters, but will quickly be equipped with a potent precision ground-attack capability. Armament will include the long-range Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), the UK-developed Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) and various air-to-ground weapons. They will succeed in service the RAFs Tornado F3 and Jaguar aircraft. Following the 55 Tranche 1 aircraft, the RAF is due to receive 89 Tranche 2 aircraft with capacity to be
