Farage vs Brown

November 7th, 2010

Gordon Brown meets the real opposition when he visits Strasbourg. For those of you who have asked, Nigel spoke a few moments before Daniel Hannan lambasted Gordon Brown. This is the transcript: Mr President, the Prime Minister has received some criticism this afternoon for his comment British jobs for British workers, but you can brush that aside, because from the moment he said it I do not think anybody seriously thought that he would ever, as a British Prime Minister, put the interests of British workers above that of his European dream. My goodness me, you showed that this afternoon, Prime Minister. It is just a pity that, apart from UKIP, virtually nobody seems to have bothered to turn up to listen to you. You are very popular here. You are very popular indeed because within a few days of the Irish saying no to the Lisbon Treaty, you had rammed that Treaty through the British Parliament, breaking a specific manifesto pledge that you would give the British people a referendum on the Constitutional Treaty. Shame on you, Prime Minister, for doing that. You have devalued democracy in our country; you have devalued the trust that voters put in you as a British Prime Minister. Of course, we know the reason why. The reason why is that we would have voted no. You said in your speech that none but those on the extremes oppose European Union. Well, that may be right amongst professional career politicians, but a clear majority of the British people want us to have friendship

Namibia & diamonds – www.embnamibia.at

November 6th, 2010

The Namibia Diamond Consumer Confidence awareness campaign was officially launched by the Hounourable Erkki Nghimtina, Minister of Mines and Energy yesterday. The Project is an effort by the diamond industry to raise awareness on the issues of conflict diamonds and to tell the story of the goods that diamonds do for Namibia. Minister Nghimtina said: “It goes without saying that the mining industry in Namibia has been, since the turn of the century, one of the corner stones of the economy.” According to the Minister, Namibia is well known for gem quality diamonds as well as a wide range of other minerals. “In contributing approximately 12.5% to the GDP, mining continues to be an important generator of export and foreign exchange, and acts as a catalyst towards the provision and extension of infrastructures within the country. In Namibia, diamonds account for more than 40% of our country’s export revenue, 7% of the government revenue and more than 10% of GDP,” he said. The occasion was attended by dignitaries from the embassies of Russia, Brazil, UK and industry leaders in the diamond fraternity. During his speech, the Minister made it clear that although Namibia has never been involved in conflict diamonds, it does not mean that the country should turn a blind eye to the dangers posed by smuggling, illicit diamond dealings and other related activities. Conflict diamonds is the term used to describe diamonds which are illegally traded to fund conflicts. The United Nations

Many who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan are dealing with severe physical disabilities as a result of blast injuries, burns, amputations, and spinal injuries. More than 200 of these wounded veterans are receiving career guidance and job search assistance through the Army Wounded Warrior Career Project, a program of the National Organization on Disability. Kessler Foundation provides substantial support through a Signature Program Grant. This video features employed veterans in Colorado, one of three sites where the AW2 Career Project offers services. Working with the Warrior Transition Unit at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, career specialist and former Marine Robert Alvarez coordinates job support services and works with employers. Former soldiers draw from a range of services that include therapy, financial assistance, legal help and ongoing support after job placement. November 6th, 2010

The Black middle-class Myers family moves into all-white Levittown, PA in August, 1957, and are snubbed and mistreated, in this powerful landmark documentary showcasing racism in the United States. This movie is part of the collection and courtesy of the Academic Film Archive of North America from www.archive.org; Producer: Lee Bobker/Lester Becker. Racism, by its simplest definition, is discrimination based on the racial groups to which people belong. People with racist beliefs might hate certain groups of people according to their racial groups. In the case of institutional racism, certain racial groups may be denied rights or benefits, or get preferential treatment. Racism typically points out taxonomic differences between different groups of people, even though anybody can be racialised, independently of their somatic differences. According to the United Nations conventions, there is no distinction between the term racial discrimination and ethnic discrimination. While the term racism usually denotes race-based prejudice, violence, discrimination, or oppression, the term can also have varying and hotly contested definitions. Racialism is a related term, sometimes intended to avoid these negative meanings. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, racism is a belief or ideology that all members of each racial group possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group or

American corporations like GM are now conducting more of their business in places like China, he said, adding that a lot of the bailout money to the banks has also gone overseas for lending. The Wall Street reform bill has no stipulations to regulate the derivatives market, and favors large banks which will continue to buy out smaller banks, he noted. He characterized the current situation as a “mixed economy” in which authority emanates from a central power like the Federal Reserve, keeping the dollar low, and inflation high; yet the amount of actual dollars in circulation are at the lowest level since the Great Depression, and that indicates deflation. He foresees a scenario in which Israel attacks Iran, and America gets drawn in. For the US and its allies, Iran has always been the target, but they weren’t prepared to dominate them until they physically surrounded them by occupying Iraq and Afghanistan, he suggested. craighulet.com http off-grid.com My network dedicated to The Truth http Where to Begin watch 1.
