If you’ve lost your P45, you won’t be able to get a replacement. Your new employer will give you a form P46 to complete so that the tax office can give you a tax code for your new employment. The majority of employees work under open-ended contracts of employment. In other words, the contract continues until such time as the employer or employee ends it.

Many other employees however, work under fixed-term or specified-purpose contracts which are contracts which end on a specified date or when a specific task is completed.

It is well established now under federal Title VII law that an employer is liable for actionable sexual harassment caused by a supervisor with “immediate (or successively higher) authority over the employee.”  However, in cases where the employee does not suffer a “tangible employment action,” such as discharge, demotion, or an unfavorable reassignment, there is an affirmative defense that an employer may raise to avoid Title VII liability and damages.
